Demonstrations, hands-on practice, and lively discussion will give students the foundation to explore the art of working with clay. Call or email for exact dates & fees.

Five Days Around the Kiln & in the Studio—A Firing & Forming Workshop

TBD, please call or email for exact dates.

This workshop is designed for experienced clay workers wishing to both fire the soda kiln and spend a concentrated time in the studio working on one idea in a small group environment. Participants will bring bisqued pots (5 – 30 depending upon scale) to glaze and soda-fire. Workshop participants will be hands-on in all aspects of kiln loading, firing, & unloading.

While the kiln cools, we will spend two days in the studio. Each participant will bring an idea, problem, or issue to focus on. Through demonstrations, critiques, and lively discussion, we will stretch our skills and thinking in the realm of clay and beyond. Day five, we unload the kiln. This is wonderful opportunity to meld firing & forming in a beautiful setting.
